I think Lori may have saved my life. Here is a selfie we took in Papua New Guinea last month.
I was awake as the doctor repaired my right coronary artery on Thursday, the 20th of November. I thank God that there was a qualified cardiologist on Maui to do the work timely. I thank God that Lori encouraged me to not ignore the pain in my chest, and to go see my cardiologist about it. I am likely to have ignored it and pushed through it, as I didn’t think it felt like an actual heart attack. But it was certainly an early warning that one was on the way if left untreated. I thank God for the tests that confirmed that there really was a problem that needed to be fixed. I thank God that He had us serving him in a remote jungle far from medical care at the right time, when it was most helpful, then at the right time had us close to medical help. I am thankful for God’s supernatural healing on top of the medical care. I’m in favor of using a bandaid (or equivalent) when needed, but I recognize that all healing is from God. God has healed me many times before, and He is doing it again, addressing the underlying issues and repairing my whole cardiovascular system. I believe that God will take this healing far beyond what the best doctors can do. I thank God for another day to enjoy my life on Earth with my sweet wife, able to do the meaningful work God has given me. I also thank God for times of rest in Him. God is good all of the time!
