Like a Mighty Wind

Hurricane Lala satellite view

Satellite view of Hurricane Lala passing the Hawaiian Islands

Hurricane Lala calmed down to a tropical storm before passing Maui. The center of the storm didn’t actually hit land, but the storm was big enough that we got lots of wind and rain from its outer bands. Some power lines and trees blew down, but power and Internet remained steady at our house. Our Bible web sites stayed online. Praise God!

The high winds reminded me of Acts 2:2. When Jesus first sent the Holy Spirit after his resurrection, He came with a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind. This was the same sound, but with different results. Instead of harming people and their property, He empowered God’s people to fulfill the Great Commission. I thank God that he gives us power stronger than that of a hurricane, not for destruction, but to be conduits of God’s love.

Thank you for helping fulfill the Great Commission!

Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!” — Philippians 4:4 WEB

Thank God that
