The Sing Bible

Woman listening to The Sing Bible

One great thing about releasing the World English Bible in such a way that it can be copied, shared, and distributed freely is that some people do some truly awesome things with it. God led Rob to do one of these awesome things. Rob is a talented musician who has created “The Sing Bible” by singing the World English Bible. When he emailed me and told me that he had done that, I thought to myself “That is an interesting idea.” But when I actually took some time to listen to parts of it, I was surprised at how great it sounds, how easy it makes it to listen to God’s Word, and how strong the anointing of the Holy Spirit on this work is. Seriously: go listen to it and let me know what you think.

Three Things Michael Does

A layman’s nontechnical overview of Michael’s ministry is that he does three things:

  • Work on the World English Bible so that a high quality, complete Bible translation in modern English can be freely shared and used in ways that the traditional copyrighted Bible translations cannot be used.
  • Distribute as many good Bible translations in other languages as we are allowed to. Note: these are not translated by Michael. He just gets permission to post them and converts them to a variety of formats that are useful for people to read, study, and listen to.
  • Mentoring, consulting, and helping others doing Bible translation and Bible distribution work.

All of these things are done without any cost to the end users, Bible translators, and other ministries. We rely on God to provide all that we need to focus on this work. We thank God for everyone that God calls to help us with our ministry expenses and everyone that God calls to pray for us.

Michael and Lori Johnson's prayer card

Thank God that

  • We got to visit family and church family in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.
  • We logged over 645 Million Scripture deliveries in 1,539 translations! That is 5 million more deliveries than last prayer letter.
  • Our solar-powered Bible data center kept running reliably in our absence while we traveled.
  • We are safely home.
  • We have a new renter to share our house.
  • We have a new (to us) used car to replace our oldest car.

Prayer Requests

  • Wise balancing of competing time demands.
  • Supernatural productivity to get caught up with some of the work that piled up while we were traveling.
  • Sale of our oldest car at a fair price.
  • Wisdom in selecting a new notebook computer.
  • Wisdom to know which projects to take on, and which ones are best left for someone else.

How can we pray for you, today?

Thank you for your part in our Ministry!

May God bless you!
