Spiritual Warfare

For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. --Ephesians 6:12 WEB

We see a lot of fighting going on in this world: wars, political battles, battles over moral issues, tribalism, domestic violence, violent crime, and more. What we don’t see in the usual news is the unseen spiritual dimension behind all of this trouble. Of course, people are involved, and that is bad enough with our human flesh having a tendency towards self-gratification without fully considering others, but ever since Genesis 3, there has been an enemy among us. Satan tries to involve people in his plot to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Just like in physical warfare, properly identifying our enemies and using appropriate weapons is important. When we deal with the unseen forces of darkness using our full armor and the weapon of the Word of God, darkness has to flee! God living in you is greater than anything the enemy can throw at you! We are on the winning side. There is still a battle. If Paul the Apostle asked for prayer (which he did), then how much more do each of us! Please pray that none of the enemy’s plots to interfere with the work of getting God’s Word to more people will be succeed.

Thank you for your help, partnership, prayers, and encouragement!

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and reveals through us the sweet aroma of his knowledge in every place.--2 Corinthians 2:14 WEB
