Every Day is a Gift from God!

I think Lori may have saved my life. Here is a selfie we took in Papua New Guinea last month.

I was awake as the doctor repaired my right coronary artery and inserted 3 stents on Thursday, the 20th of November. I thank God that there was a qualified cardiologist on Maui to do the work timely. I thank God that Lori encouraged me to not ignore the pain in my chest, and to go see my cardiologist about it. I am likely to have ignored it and pushed through it, as I didn’t think it felt like an actual heart attack. But it was certainly an early warning that one was on the way if left untreated. I thank God for the tests that confirmed that there really was a problem that needed to be fixed. I thank God that there was no problem with my heart in a remote jungle far from medical care last month in Papua New Guinea. I thank God that when I needed it, I was close to good medical care at home. I am thankful for God’s supernatural healing on top of the medical care. I’m in favor of using a bandaid (or equivalent) when needed, but I recognize that all healing is from God. God has healed me many times before, and He is doing it again. I thank God for another day to enjoy my life on Earth with my sweet wife and able to do meaningful work God has given me.

Always rejoice. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you. —1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 WEB
