Preparing for Manus Island, Papua New Guinea

Items showing preparation for our trip to Manus

We are preparing for our mission trip to Manus Island, Papua New Guinea next month. There, we will help Sue Pfaff with Bible translation and teaching. Lori is assembling activities and gifts based on the Wordless Book Gospel tract, except that we will add words from Bible verses in three languages (Nali, Tok Pisin, and English).

Top left: color salvation tract kits. Bottom left: beads for salvation message bracelets for gifts. Center: a Tok Pisin Bible that we will leave home because of its bulk, and because the same Bible text fits better in our luggage on a smart phone, along with the completed portions of the Nali Bible and the Holy Bible in English. Those can easily be shared with anyone there who has a smart phone (which is a growing number of people, even in a rural island village). Right: soccer balls and a small pump. The soccer balls are deflated so that they will fit in our luggage. Lori loves to play soccer, and wants to share that love in the village. Below: John 3:16 in English, Nali, and Tok Pisin shown in parallel on eBible.org. I keep PNG.Bible and eBible.org updated with new books of the Holy Bible in the Nali language as they are finished.

Please Keep Praying

Thank God for:

  • Completion of the Solomons.Bible web site upgrade. It works better now on both mobile phones and devices with larger screens. This completes one goal before the upcoming South Pacific Bible Forum meeting in October.
  • Thank God that I was able to add the Ekegusii whole Bible translation online. Ekegusii is a language of Kenya.
  • More than 530 Million Scripture deliveries in 1,526 Bible translations logged on eBible.org and associated sites!
  • Resources to do whatever God calls us to do. Thank God for both those who give for our regular support and those who have given towards our next mission trip.

Please keep praying for the following aspects of our ministry:

  • Planning our next mission trip to Papua New Guinea (to help the Nali translation team on Manus Island) and Fiji (for the South Pacific Bible Forum) in September and October.
  • Web site upgrades for Baebol.org (Vanuatu Bibles) and eBible.org.
  • Bible study app development.

How can we pray for you, today?
